Ain Grooms, Ph.D.
Ain Grooms, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Research Associate at the University of Iowa Public Policy Center. Her research largely focuses on how K-12 educational leaders and other invested actors create and sustain equity-driven policies and practices to improve outcomes for students of color and students from other historically marginalized communities. One of her current research projects is diving deeper into computer science education policies at the state level with a grant award from Google’s Computer Science Education Research Fund. In a second current project as part of The Wallace Foundation’s Equity Centered Pipeline Initiative, Dr. Grooms is a member of a team exploring how the central offices of eight urban school districts factor their districts’ sociocultural and historical contexts into the creation of equity-focused principal pipelines . Dr. Grooms holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Policy from The University of Georgia.
